Fusion Go

Product Overview

Fusion Go is a mobile app that empowers university students across North America to lead healthy lifestyles on campus. Within the app, students can sign up for recreational programs, manage their memberships, view building occupancy counts, and more.

My Role

As the Lead Designer on this project, I was responsible for managing and executing on a variety design initiatives. Together with 2 other designers, we researched and redesigned features within the app and made major UI enhancements to achieve a modern aesthetic. I worked alongside the lead developer and multiple stakeholders to define & prepare a demo-able version of the revamp (and our new direction for the app) to participants at NIRSA, an annual conference in the recreation industry.

Where We Started

Fusion Go as it existed worked well for many years as the go-to place for students to engage with their recreation facilities digitally. It also served as a great way for universities to promote specific information. However, stakeholders felt the app wasn't meeting its full potential or keeping up with the emerging needs of students.

Evaluating the Existing Experiencing

My team's initial rounds of research with clients and students was extremely insightful. During which, we uncovered that many features simply weren't being used by students. The reasons varied per feature, but the overall sentiment was consistent: The product did a few things well, but most features didn't meet their functional or experiential needs.

Throughout multiple strategy calls with stakeholders, we worked towards forming a collective understanding of what Fusion Go 2.0 will be and what it will not be. During these calls, the design team was "the voice of the user" and we shared our findings to aid stakeholders in decision-making.

There's more to see, but I can't quite share it publicly 👀
